Compositions made with the best of taste and with a great mastery of the technique – cheerful painting, full of life. Clear and transparent retinas which reveal to us a warm and harmonious chromatism in all of her paintings. Carlos Sentí . Art Critic.
Scintillating, vivid and well-constructed painting, where the strokes of the brush and the pallete knife create the illusion of space, of the air which surrounds the compositional elements of each painting. There is an inquietude in Manola Esteban's painting – an intention to use atmosphere, figure and composition to situate us in her world. Her painting, so multiple and varied, is the result of encounters and of findings and constant creativity. María Francisca Olmedo de Cerdá . PhD. Journalist, Art Critic and Writer.
The oil paintings of our artist, by their natural predilection lean towards that simple world – and here simplicity does not mean easiness – of baskets of esparto or wicker containing flowers or wheat. They are, undoubtedly, an entire world of nostalgic experiences which have an endearing pictorial interest for our sensitivity and our eyes, already accustomed to slowly losing sight of those country things which were part of our lives in a now distant adolescence, but which continue to exert their attraction and produce a sense of longing on seeing them materialized in Manola Esteban's beautiful paintings, which show us their moving sincerity and their pictorial realism. Luis Martinez Richart Art Divulger. From the Spanish Wrinters Association.
She is an artist of well-defined personality. Her painting becomes strong in an expressive line which she draws nearer to her personality until both meet, becoming the final objective of all who create in any field of Art. In her exhibitions, the artist searches for a theme which goes from rough to smooth, finding a brush stroke for each nuance and a special mood for each object. In this way she moves from large baskets of esparto to the delicateness of flower petals, playing deftly with the substance in which she dissolves a warm and harmonious chromatism from a generous palette. It is painting full of vivacity and favored by excellent construction, which must be credited without a doubt to her profound knowledge of drawing. Carlos Sentí . Art Critic. ( “Levante” Newspaper )
Manola Esteban's paintings are cheerful and exciting. Her personal hallmark revealing a certain feminine influence can be found in each one. Her Valencian nature leads her to the use of light as a very important element, as well as the drawing from which the work of art begins. The artist dominates palette and brush to perfection, which proves the worth of a well-acquired technique. C.B. “El Correo´Newspaper – Bilbao.
... we find an artist who dominates colour and light to perfection. She has studied and observed nature- its flowers, fields and beaches, and has a well-defined personal style. E. Rivas . Art Critic (Diario Lucha) Teruel.
“ All of that which remains in our memory takes us over a bridge of colour into a world of dreams.” With this thought Manola Esteban sums up her own deep sensitivity. On more than one occasion we have described this artist as our own and this is because we find her painting so familiar and so intimate-so much in mind- that we make it ours. She continues to delight us with her baskets of flowers, which offer harmony and tranquility- or earthenware offering external beauty and plastic consistency- or compositions with shopping baskets and small anea baskets with their clusters of flowers. She is an artist in search of fair detail- for its pleasantness- for its lushness. Lately she has been considering the adventure of landscape, where she has transferred her exquisite sensitivity and has been gathering verdures of captivating force- vivacions, attractive havens of peace. She achieves sensationalism with beauty, diversity with elegance and attraction with delicacy. George Braque said that “ Art is made to unsettle and Science to reassure”. On hearing this, the name Manola Esteban is engraved on one's mind. She is an artist who calms and delights- inspires and brings to life. She is a guide “over a bridge of colour into a world of dreams”. Lorenzo Berenguer Palau Author of the book “Contemporary Valencian Painters”. |
